The Ideology Of A Modern Environment : Working Until I'm 55?

There are maybe about 8 Billion people on this earth right now, aside from the population who are still active students and minors, almost 4 Billion are emplyoed to work for some major or minor company, and maybe hundreds of millions are emplyoed. 4 Billion people are working at their productivity age which is around 18-55. For years, the hamster wheel keeps spinning, the old gets retired, and replaced by a younger dan fitter emplyoee. The dogma of modern society. Truth be told, the dream job for humans right now as an adult is working in some major company, maybe in oil and gas or any other multinational company that provides great income. Maybe around 40-100 Million, if the currency is in indonesian rupiah, could be more than that. Depending on the value rate of the particular currency.

I don't want to natter on the fact where I'm just a regular employee. I feel very greatful to have a job in this current age where competition is much strict then ever before. Where hundreds of people who are more qualified would literally fight for filling the vaccant slot in the job market. Job hunting isn't as easy as it was before. But, I would just like to point out that, is working years and years for someone's company really worth giving your life too? It's really a big concideration if we really think about it because realize it or not, we are going to spend half of our lives just to make someone's company bigger and bigger, not to mention the horrible traffic we have to endure every time we go to work. While the company you're working for becomes a major cooperation, you will be just an average joe there with your small room or desk. Sure having a job is better than having no job at all, especially if we have mouths to feed back home.

Well, working for half of our lives for someones company is not a good choice, in my opinion. With the time we will spend for imporving someone else's bussiness in the future, we could actually build our own bussiness. Sure our income will be low at first, but in time surely the margin would grown up. For me, I'm not going to work for the rest of my life for someone. I don't want to be an average working joe.

Someone told me this,

"setinggi apapun jabatan kamu, kamu akan tetap jadi pembantu orang. Sekecil apapun usaha kamu, kamu akan menjadi bossnya."

I admit those words are true. That's why I began starting a small bussiness of my own. Sure it's not as big as the major ones. But at least we are the boss, we decide what should be done to make our bussiness grow bigger. I don't plan on working for years and years for someone. My dream is to become an Entrepreneur. Won't be easy, but at least I have to try to prove that if I could do it, maybe you could too.

Dream big, don't let modern dogma restrain you from your dreams.
