Chapter four
Robert Timberlake had many stories, but mostly his story was about mental patients who were serial killers. I tried not to take this to thought but blocking it felt almost impossible. It's like taking away drugs from a junkie, the more you fight or block the feeling of drugs, the more you want it. There were many questions I want to ask about Nigel, question about his state of mind.
Is he truly like me?
Now, I had completely lost my appetite due to Robert's story. The loud bell rang once again, telling us it's time for medicine, and the food on my plate and the chocolate latte in my cup was left untouched.
Me and Robert got up and we entered the next room beside the cafeteria. As I walked, I felt a tingling sensation of someone following me. Paranoia hits me hard. When I looked behind, my paranoia was true. Someone was indeed following me. She had her eyes aimed at me like a bullet for sometime now.
She had a tomboy look. Her hair was short and black as the night sky. She had chocolate brown illuminating eyes, and the shape of her eyes were very sharp like a persian cat. She was white, but with a pale white tone, like someone having low blood disease. A tiny mole was adhere on her left cheek, just a couple of centimeters below her eye. Her lips were cherry red and full. She wasn't very tall, but she looks well fit for a women. As she followed me, I noticed the white standard cloths she was wearing was a little baggy.
And I knew exactly who she was.
Robert once told me about her. Her nick name here is "Kuro" which means black due to her hair color. But I didn't worry much, because Robert told me that she wasn't the type of patient that was psycho. She's eighteen years old, a few years younger than me. She's here because she couldn't stand the outside world, curriculum at school was frustrating and made her go insane. She tried to kill herself once, so her parents immediately brought her here. She is a harm to herself, so She was no harm to me.
"Robert," I finally said when we were waiting in line to take medicine. "The girl you told me, Kuro ... has been watching us since we left the cafeteria." My tone was a little frantic.
Robert looked back. "Oh, you mean Bellarose? You don't have to worry so much, Nathan. Kuro is a zero threat to you." he said. "I'm more worried about what's going to happen a few seconds from now."
Next, I place my eyes on the people wearing blue hospital cloths in front of me, shoving the mental patients with many quantities of medicine. A white round pill called Methanoxyl isopropylene. Thiamisis provides, more likely, forces us to take some kind of pill which the main function was to cut out hallucination and even dreams from our brain. That makes us unable to experience dreams or hallucinations at night. The doctor's said this pill doesn't have any long term effect, but ... I know that's simply a lie. A dozen of patients I know is contracted with brain damage because of that pill.
"The thing I hate most is this, Nathan. Medicine time is like hell to me. No, even worse than hell." said Robert. "Don't you hate it too?"
I guess so, I answered without a voice. There is something I never told to anyone here, not even to Robert, and I still don't want to. Every single day, when medicine time, I never swallowed the pills, I always hide it under my tounge. This is a good plan, since nobody here have ever caught me.
They can't control me. They never will.
"You are going to die .... Nathan Hall. You will die here. Rot here, and no one will miss you." suddenly a faint sound was heard behind me, and when I looked back, the colour brown stared directly at me. Kuro. "Prepare your self, Nathan. The worst is about to begin tonight when the stars lite thier last light. When that time gomes, you are in grave danger."
Oh My God. I gulped hard.
